Ronald Louis Copeland, MD, FACS

Ronald CopelandRonald L. Copeland, MD, FACS is Senior Vice President of National Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Policy and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Kaiser Permanente.

Through multiple collaborations, he leads Kaiser Permanente’s programwide efforts to ensure that its strategic vision for diversity and inclusion is successfully implemented and results in all Kaiser Permanente members receiving care that is high quality, affordable, and equitable.

Dr. Copeland is a member of Kaiser Permanente’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion Oversight, a group composed of the chairman/CEO and other senior leaders who oversee executive accountability for embedding the diversity and inclusion strategy throughout the organization. Additionally, he is chair of the Kaiser Permanente National Diversity and Inclusion Council, which develops and implements the diversity and inclusion agenda.

A Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Copeland joined Kaiser Permanente in 1988 after a 6-year honorable tour of duty in the United States Air Force Medical Corps. Prior to his current role, Dr. Copeland served as president and executive medical director of the Ohio Permanente Medical Group. The Rochester, N.Y. native earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and his medical degree from University of Cincinnati Medical College. He completed his residency in general surgery at State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

 

Steve Humerickhouse

Steve HumerickhouseSteve Humerickhouse is the executive director of The Forum on Workplace Inclusion, a center of excellence at the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Humerickhouse has been with The Forum for more than twelve years. During that time he has expanded The Forum from a one day local conference to a national,and increasingly, global presence.

Prior to The Forum, Humerickhouse ran training programs for state and local government officials, lawyers and adoptive families. He was a lobbyist for adoption and foster care working in Congress and the administration, successfully advocating for programs and legislation covering health insurance, tax law, immigration, welfare programs and government and military employee benefits. His first career was spent as a full-time orchestra musician and his degrees are in music performance.

He is an active freelance instrumental and vocal performer in the Twin Cities and serves on the board of directors of the Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus. He is the father of Katie and grandfather of Alexis and Avery.

 

Dr. David Jamieson

Dr. David Jamieson, 2014 Conference SpeakerDr. Jamieson is Professor & Department Chair, Organization Learning & Development, College of Education, Leadership & Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. He is also President of the Jamieson Consulting Group, Inc., Practicum Director in the M.S. in Organization Development Program at American University and Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Benedictine Ph.D.in OD program. He is now teaching at his seventh university. He has 40 years of experience consulting to organizations on leadership, change, strategy, design and human resource issues. He is a Past National President of the American Society for Training and Development (1984) and Past Chair of the Management Consultation Division and Practice Theme Committee of the Academy of Management. He has published or edited 5 books (including Managing Workforce 2000: Gaining the Diversity Advantage), 15 chapters, 6 special issues of journals and numerous articles; and serves on 4 journal editorial boards.

 

Kwame Trotman

Kwame Trotman is Vice President of Global Wholesale Operations, responsible for Global Customer Ordering, Sales Engineering, Sales & Staff support and the FTTC Program Office. In this role he is responsible for delivering operational support to Global Wholesale Customers, Sales and Marketing.

Prior to his current assignment, he was responsible for end to end service management for switched, special and mobility access globally.

Previously, Trotman served as Director of Operations for the FL Region, responsible for Installation and Maintenance for Verizon’s Residential and Business Customers. In this role, he was also responsible for the service delivery of high-bandwidth services to retail and wholesale customers in the Florida Region.

Trotman began his career at Bell Atlantic in the Wholesale organization where he was responsible for special circuit delivery for wholesale interexchange carriers in the Potomac region. Trotman has held positions of increasing responsibilities from field supervisor, special services dispatch center manager, director of Customer Operations, Construction and FiOS/Core Installation and Maintenance.

Trotman earned a B.S. in Business Management from Hampton University and an M.B.A. from Troy State University. In addition, he served eight years honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Kwame currently serves on the Board of the High Bridge Foundation and previously Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.

 

Cheri C. Wilson, MA, MHS, CPHQ

Cheri WilsonCheri C. Wilson is an Assistant Scientist and Program Director in the Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She educates clinical and support staff in healthcare organizations, public health, medical, and nursing, and K-12 students and community members on the issues of cultural competency, health and healthcare disparities, and health equity. The focus of her work is primarily upon the intersection between cultural competency and health disparities and patient safety and healthcare quality.
