Fernando G. Little
Assistant Vice President
Fernando provides strategic human resources counsel regarding teammate engagement, labor productivity, organizational alignment, and performance management. He supports the Divisional President and her senior leadership team. He utilizes a “best place to work” framework to support a workplace culture that elevates inclusion, teamwork, and community engagement. Prior to his current role, Fernando served as Interim Executive Leader for Diversity and Inclusion and Director of Compensation.
Prior to joining Atrium Health, Fernando served as a Human Resources Executive at Family Dollar Stores, Inc. At Family Dollar Fernando served on the Enterprise Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee. As a key contributor to the diversity strategy at Family Dollar, Fernando was instrumental in developing the Employee Resource Group framework and establishing the diversity pillars for the organization.
Fernando has served other Fortune 500 organizations in various Human Resources capacities.
Fernando is a proud graduate of Appalachian State University where he has served on the Board of Visitors, Board of Trustees and currently on the Diversity Scholarship Committee. Fernando received his Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Development from Pfeiffer University.
In the community, Fernando serves on the Cabarrus County Workforce Development Advisory Board, the Diversity MBA Advisory Board, and he volunteers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Fernando enjoys all types of music. He is a trained pianist and currently serves as Director of Music and Arts at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
Fernando is married to Tiffany. They have two children (Camren and Chandler) and they reside in the Mint Hill, NC area. They enjoy attending sporting events and hanging out at the Great Wolf Lodge (an indoor waterpark just outside of Charlotte, NC). They are avid Carolina Panther fans!!
