Ochoa specializes in Indian law, tribal housing, gaming and the counseling of tribes, tribally designated housing entities, exempt organizations, and business clients in all phases of operations. His experience includes representation of two of the nation’s largest tribally designated housing entities, compliance with the requirements of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act, federal and state gaming law with emphasis on Indian gaming and Arizona and National Indian Gaming Commission regulatory issues, representing tribal gaming commissions/offices and casino management entities in regulatory and operations matters, and advising nonprofit entities on corporate and tax issues. He’s admitted to the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Court, Tohono O’odham Nation Tribal Court, and Tonto Apache Tribal Court. He has received numerous recognitions and serves on the board of 88-Crime, William Morris Foundation, Tohono Chul Park, Governor’s Character Education Commission (was also commissioner), Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, Crime Prevention Council, and Tucson Centers for Women and Children.
