Germaine Hunter Named VP of Inclusion & Diversity

A message from Kirsten Marriner, EVP – Chief People Officer

I’m pleased to announce that Germaine Hunter, director of Sales – new business development, has been named vice president – Inclusion and Diversity, effective Jan. 14. Germaine will report to me and will ensure we have an enterprise Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) strategy that generates results globally.

We’ve expanded the scale and scope of this role based on the impact we expect for this strategic work, for both our people and our business. In his new role, Germaine will join the HR Leadership Team and help shape and lead execution of our people strategy, and will be responsible for alignment of I&D to the 2025 Strategy. He also will join the People and Culture Team. He will lead work that strengthens our culture of inclusion, enabling us to embrace diversity from the widely differing backgrounds, experiences and styles of our global workforce. This is critical to achieving our business objectives, particularly as we work to continuously improve the ways we attract, retain and engage diverse talent.

Germaine joined Clorox in 2009 as Sales team leader for Green Works and has taken on roles with increasing responsibilities, including associate director of the Customer Marketing Group – Home Care and Food. In his most recent role as director of Sales planning for Litter, Food and Charcoal, he led the customer strategy and go-to-market executions for multiple brands, including Hidden Valley, Fresh Step and Kingsford. Key accomplishments include the integration of Soy Vay, the launch of Fresh Step Clean Paws, and the successful execution of the 2018 litter and food retail pricing initiatives.

Since 2015, Germaine has co-led the African American Employee Resource Group (ABLE), which has been focused on enhancing the experience of Clorox employees and infusing African-American consumer insights into our business units’ decision-making processes.

Please join me in congratulating Germaine and wishing him much success in this new role. I look forward to seeing the change he will drive in this space as he applies his broad business experience to his passion for I&D, making Clorox an even better place to work.
