Lasell College Names Easton Native Jesse Tauriac Assistant Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer

Newton, MA – Lasell College today announced that (Easton native) Jesse Tauriac, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Donahue Institute for Ethics, Diversity, and Inclusion, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer.

In his new role, Tauriac will oversee all diversity and inclusion initiatives while working closely with Lasell students to promote academic engagement and success. In addition, Tauriac will facilitate numerous intercultural competency workshops and will continue to oversee programming and activities focused on fostering awareness about social identities and inequalities and enhancing sensitivity to the moral dimensions of choices individuals make.

Throughout his career, Tauriac has conducted extensive research on social and academic resources that promote positive educational experiences and outcomes for all students. He has also improved Lasell’s campus climate through intergroup dialogues and academic interventions. His research has been published in the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, the Journal for Specialists in Group Work, and other peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.

Tauriac received his Ph.D. and M.A. in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, his B.A. from Boston University, and was a fellow of the American Psychological Association’s Minority Fellowship Program.
