I want to start off by wishing a Happy New Year and many blessings to everyone on this planet. At the risk of sounding trite, it is your season so own it. The beginning of every new year is a time to reflect, recommit and, in many cases, change. It is the one time of the year that change management actually puts people in a positive mindset.
I started this blog to share with you insights on my expertise on inclusive diversity supported by our inclusive leadership index. I thought it might be a good idea to share with you a bit about me – the person who you are hearing from every week. My hope is to connect with you at a belief or principle level. My bishop, in a recent sermon, said that we should always know the foundational beliefs of partners and advisors. I am taking that to heart.
I am a God-fearing and very spiritual woman. I am committed to serving others and to sharing my gifts for the benefit of others. I am loyal to my family and friends. I am humble enough to know that I do not know all things, but the wisdom and experience that I do have, I share only to help others thrive and to create a positive impact.
No matter where you are on your impact journey, now is the time to get real and get serious about taking your turn.
Putting your beliefs into action requires knowing your purpose in life. Did you know that, if you are clear on your purpose, it shows up in the workplace? Integrating the drive you have to achieve your life’s vision and dream into everything you do connects you to all people in all parts of your life. And the visions that drive us bring out the opportunities that lie in our subconscious.
If you start reframing your thinking to make sure your thoughts and ideas are innovative, full of integrity and creative, then no matter what drives you, you will achieve and thrive.
With the spirit of inclusion and acceptance of differences, people should recognize that everyone has value and has his/her own core beliefs. We just need to respect that everyone gets a turn to shine in this new year.
