Born in San Juan to a Puerto Rican mother and Irish-American father, Oday began his career with GE Aviation in 1987 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to support airlines throughout South America. Following that, he was transferred to Melbourne, Australia as GE’s representative to Qantas Airlines, in addition to helping start up five new airline customers throughout the South Pacific. After seven years as a field engineer, he was accepted for the GE Global marketing & sales leadership program. In his current role, he has created the marketing vision while leading the product planning and service strategy that has positioned the division to grow from a $200 million business to over $1 billion committed business by 2020. Oday has been actively involved with the Hispanic Forum and in 2009 assumed his current role as Business Champion. overseeing the hiring, development and community service activities of GE Hispanics across numerous Aviation sites and hubs.
