DALLAS, TX, Aug. 14, 2013 A classically-trained pianist and community advocate,  a certified public accountant,  an avid mentor, and a U.S. Army veteran may seem to have little in common, but all have achieved senior leadership roles at AT&T, the world’s premiere telecommunications company. Now, Diversity MBA Magazine has named them to its 7th Annual Exclusive List of Top 100 under 50 Diverse Executive Leaders for 2013.  Each was selected based on his or her impact to the company’s bottom line, leadership and community support.

Lori Lee, a certified public accountant and mom from Springfield, MO, is Senior Executive Vice President-Home Solutions at AT&T.  Lee is responsible for leading strategy, marketing and operations for AT&T’s wireline consumer organization, including IP broadband, home phone, Customer Information Services, and AT&T’s suite of U-verse® services. She also oversees all AT&T U-verse television content and AdWorks cross-platform advertising.

Thaddeus Arroyo, an Army veteran from Lewisville, TX, serves as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at AT&T.  Arroyo is responsible for building an agile IT infrastructure that can scale to unprecedented levels, increasing the velocity with which AT&T brings products to market.

Xavier Williams, an avid mentor from Washington D.C., is Senior Vice President-Service Management. Williams has global responsibilities for business client interface on all customer service functions including ensuring quality service and billing for all business retail customers.

Anne Chow, a classically-trained pianist and community advocate from Holmdel, NJ, is Senior Vice President- Premier Client Group where she leads a national sales and support organization responsible for delivering a full range of communications solutions, including wireless and wired services, to large business customers. Anne manages the P&L for this segment which represents one of AT&T’s largest business markets.

“These four individuals embody what makes AT&T such a great place to work,” said Debbie Storey, Senior Vice President, Talent Development & Chief Diversity Officer. “Their diverse backgrounds and experiences, coupled with their leadership skills, are directly responsible for the innovation that will continue to define AT&T far into the future. We are proud of each of them, and honored they’ve been named to this prestigious list.”

Other factors that contributed to the selection of these leaders included scope of responsibility and civic achievement. Lee, Arroyo, Williams and Chow will be highlighted as part of a featured article in the summer issue of Diversity MBA Magazine and honored at an award ceremony in Chicago in September.

AT&T integrates diversity in all its business practices, including setting an aspirational goal in 2012 to increase our vendor spending with certified, diverse businesses to 21.5 percent of the total budget – a goal the company surpassed with $12.8 billion in diversity spending last year.  AT&T’s workforce is 38 percent female and 39 percent people of color – both well above industry averages. Diversity at AT&T is eagerly supported by employees, with membership in employee resource groups such as HACEMOS (the Hispanic/Latino employee organization), Women of AT&T, and AT&T Veterans recently surging from 16,000 to 57,000.
