In the words of the Beatles Legend, John Lennon, I invite you to reflect on his words from the song…… IMAGINE.
Imagine there’s no heaven, it’s easy if you try, no hell below us
above us only sky, imagine all the people living for today. Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do, nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too,
imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer,
but I’m not the only one, I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will be as one.
Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, no need for greed or hunger,
a brotherhood of man. Imagine all the people sharing all the world, you may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one, I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one.
It is amazing that a song written more than a decade ago resonates deeply with where we are today and that we can tell our children the sacrifices of our ancestors allow our dreams to become realities.
The possibilities realized started with former President Barack Obama, our first Black president of the United States for a two-term office with an undisputed win into leadership. This was followed by Hilary Clinton, our first woman who was the democratic party presidential candidate that won the popular vote; and today we celebrate Kamala Harris, the first Black and Indian woman to take the second most powerful seat in our government, Vice President of these United States.
I just simply want to acknowledge that there is still so much good in so many of us in this world, that we must take hold of what matters most within our lives, with grace, and fortitude, so our children and the next generation of leaders know they can imagine all possibilities into realities.
Be Well and Stay Safe
