Pamela Ravare Browne is a professional executive with extensive world-wide business expertise in Corporate America, Non-profit organizations, Academia, and International Affairs. Born in Northern California and raised in Frankfurt, Germany Pamela developed a fondness for diverse cultures and international travel.
Pamela has journeyed to over 25 international countries and has worked with several US Embassies educational centers throughout East and South Asia. She has been the guest of Presidents and Vice-Presidents in Africa and dignitaries in Korea promoting higher education and poverty reduction strategies. Pamela has served on the board of directors for two local non-profit organizations in Dallas, Texas. Most recently, she was appointed as a National Board Member for the Soledad Obrien/Brad Raymond Foundation which supports funding for young women to pursue an undergraduate degree. Additionally, Pamela serves on the National Board of Directors for Diversity MBA.
Pamela obtained her undergraduate BS degree in Marketing from a HBCU (Southern University) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and achieved her MBA with a concentration in Business Marketing and International Business from Louisiana State University (LSU). She also attained her Executive Non-profit Leadership certificate from Southern Methodist University.
Her corporate experience spans from marketing positions with several Fortune 100 companies (General Motors, IBM and Proctor & Gamble) to higher education where she served as a visiting professor at 5 leading universities and served as Executive Director of International Graduate Relations and Pre-MBA Programs. Pamela’s passion is supporting advanced education and professional development while working with Diversity and Inclusion projects. Her own multicultural background serves as a foundation for her desire to support minority advancement within business and corporate America. Pamela has also held leadership positions within several non-profits; serving as the Director of Finance (CECF) and Director, Office of the CEO (NSHMBA).
Pamela has a natural proclivity for organizational management while serving as a change agent and fostering lasting relationships amongst strategic alliances. She has an impressive background in international and diversity business affairs, talent acquisition, operations management, human resources, strategic planning and corporate partnership development.
In September 2010, Pamela joined ALPFA as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in February 2011. As ALPFA’s COO, Pamela works closely with the CEO and Executive Management Team to lead major cross-business unit projects and programs while directing process management/improvement activities of major strategic initiatives including the management of ALPFA’s three year strategic initiatives portfolio. As COO, she oversees the Graduate Expansion Initiative, Strategic Alliances, Membership, Professional Programming, Chapter Relations, ALPFA’s Leading Chapter Executive Directors (New York, Boston, Chicago, and NWA) and Chapter Operations for ALPFA’s 40 professional and over 110 student chapters.
Among several recognitions, in September 2012, Pamela was selected by Diversity MBA Magazine as one of the Top 100 under 50 Diverse Executive Leaders. She resides in Los Angeles, California with her husband and puppy Chanel.
