Interview Star Creator of Netflix Beloved LGBTQ EastSiders Premiering Dec 1st

Kit Williamson’s Emmy-nominated LGBTQ series, EASTSIDERS, returns to Netflix on December 1st for its star-studded fourth and final season, and we would love to arrange an interview with you and Kit who stars, writes and directs to share what’s in store this season and reveal the remarkable story of how his initial Kickstarter campaign and YouTube show turned into one of Netflix’s most beloved LGBTQ series.

Since its inception, EASTSIDERS has received critical acclaim and praise, with Entertainment Weekly calling the show “funny and heartbreaking,” and Out Magazine praising it as “relatable, fresh and darkly funny.” In addition to its 8 Emmy nominations, the series, which has been now been subtitled in over 30 languages, won “Best Web Drama” at the 2013 LA Weekly Awards, “Best Ensemble” at the Indie Series Awards, and was nominated for a “Satellite Award” from the International Press Academy.

John Halbach

Executive Produced by Kit with his husband John Halbach, and made possible via a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $140,000 this year from fans, the fourth season of EASTSIDERS on Netflix picks up with the Silver Lake gang one year later. Notable new additions to the ensemble in season four include Jake Choi (ABC’s “Single Parents”); Hailee Sahar (Netflix’ “Pose”), Tom Lenk (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Daniel Newman (“The Walking Dead”), Lin Shaye (INSIDIOUS), Bryan Batt (“Mad Men”) Traci Lords (“Crybaby,” “Swedish Dicks”). Drag Race royalty drag performers Marta Beatchu and Biqtch Puddin (“Dragula”),Manila Luzon and Katya Zomoldova, original “Queer Eye” culture guru Jai Rodriguez, and many more.

Set in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, the first season followed couple Cal (Williamson) and Thom (Van Hansis) as they struggle with infidelity and substance abuse. It also explored the relationship between Kathy (Constance Wu), Cal’s best friend, and her boyfriend Ian (John Halbach) as they reach their six-month anniversary. After airing only two episodes on YouTube, the series was picked up by Logo TV. After its second season, the series was sold to Netflix, where it will premiere its fourth and final season on December 1.

EASTSIDERS

Kit Williamson is an actor and filmmaker, best known for creating and starring in EASTSIDERS, and playing ‘Ed Gifford’ on AMC’s series MAD MEN. He began his acting career on Broadway, in the Tony-nominated revival of Talk Radio while studying acting at Fordham University, and went on to receive his MFA in playwriting from UCLA. Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Kit Williamson was bullied in school for being different, and was sent by his parents to Interlochen Arts Academy in lower Michigan where he could immerse himself in the arts world that he was drawn to. Kit now lives in Silver Lake, Los Angeles with his husband (and EASTSIDERS co-star) John Halbach.
