The Poor and Needy Can’t Wait Until Winter Arrives to Get Help, Monse Says
CHICAGO – On Thursday, Chicago area Kids and families will be in the streets trick-or-treating for candy and other goodies, but one Chicago event planner and beauty consultant will be collecting coats on Halloween Eve for children and adults who need coats before the winter sets in.
On a typical day, Manuela “Monse” Davalos, is hosting events for beauty consultants, who are sampling the latest cosmetics from MaryKay, or she is organizing soul searching events for authors, life coaches and empowerment speakers who have life changing messages for those destined to achieve their ultimate goals.
But Ms. Davalos, who is affectionately known by her clients as “Monse Pink” and hosts events under the name “Events by Monse,” won’t be focused on glamour or coaching Wednesday night. She has decided to put the spotlight on children and families who need winter coats and she is calling on her clients, friends and followers to support the cause. With the cold, rain and some snow predicted to hit the Chicago metropolitan area on Halloween, the timing of the event could bode well for those who need to stay warm. The October 30th coat drive, the first of several charity events, will begin at 6p.m. at 6113 W. Diversey Ave. For additional information, contact Monse Davalos at eventsbymonse@gmail.com, (773) 754-9864, or MonsePink via Facebook.
“It is a great feeling when you donate something, and I call it the gift form the heart, because your coat has so many memories attached to it,” said Monse, explaining why he decided to host the drive. Monse has asked all donors to attach a message or quote to their gift.
“You might have great memories tied to your coat, and that special coat is going to be so special for the next person who is going to use it. It will bring them all of your positive energy,” Monse said. “The gift is also a nice way to say goodbye to your memories, because we are about to finalize 2019. By giving to others, we are opening the door to receive some great things in 2020. This is how life works when we give from the heart.”
