TOP 50 COMPANIES FOR BLACK MBAs TO WORK
CHICAGO, IL—Black MBA Magazine, a niche publication targeting African-American MBAs, students, professionals and the business community, will publish its second annual Top 50 Companies for Black MBAs To Work in its Spring issue, which will be published in March 2007. Published by P&L Publishing, Inc., Black MBA Magazine is the official publication of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), a professional organization based in Chicago.
As the 2006 Inaugural list was focused more on company diversity, the 2007 Top 50 Companies list will showcase companies that make a concerted effort to recruit, develop and retain African-American MBAs. Since the most noted business publications currently distribute lists on top companies for minorities to work, Black MBA Magazine wanted to investigate a more targeted area of diversity as it relates to African Americans and post secondary education. The majority of today’s statistics report on all categories of diversity (African American, Latinos, Asians, Native Americans, and women), but because Black MBA Magazine’s readership is primarily African American, it is important for us to focus our research on this group. Attached is the List of Top 50 Companies for 2007 in rank order.
“We are very pleased with the commitment that corporate America is making to diversity. Our research shows that many companies are not only investing heavily into recruiting minorities, they are developing programs to support retention and sustainability. We feel that companies now recognize that inclusion in the wake of a growing diverse workforce is the key to profitable growth,” said Pam McElvane, CEO and Publisher of P&L Publishing, Inc.
Black MBA Magazine, proudly celebrating ten years of service in 2007, provides research reports on industry diversity programs and performance, continuing education, networking opportunities, and professional development advice to entrepreneurs and African Americans working in corporate America. It also covers news from NBMBAA national and local chapters. The magazine is distributed to NBMBAA membership as well as to top business schools and alumni associations.
