DIVERSITY MBA 2019 Rankings: Healthcare Dominates
“50 Out Front: Best Places to Work for Women & Diverse Managers”
CHICAGO, IL–Diversity MBA, a national leadership organization integrating diversity and inclusion with talent management, has named UPMC No.1 in its 2019 rankings of “Best Places for Women & Diverse Managers to Work.”
Blue Cross Blue Shield, Michigan is No.2 in Diversity MBA’s 50 out Front list. Succeeding after at No.3 is Novant Health. (A complete list of this year’s best companies is listed below.)
Diversity MBA’s survey acknowledges companies and organizations that make a strategic effort to implement intentional strategies for women and managers of diverse backgrounds to advance to leadership roles. Diversity MBA emphasizes how companies are championing recruiting efforts that result in a diverse and targeted talent selection for management opportunities. The development of emerging leaders is a focus for this year’s survey, as well as how impactful companies are sustaining inclusive cultures.
“In 2019, we focus on how impactful companies are, and recognized those who are making a difference throughout the workforce. Our ranking measured the rate of advancement as it correlates with people of color and women. However, other significant key elements are closely observed. The strength of the performance management in these companies are key to their success. Companies that makes it a priority to ensure that the social issues that occurs beyond the walls of the workplace are addressed, recognizes impact that issues in local communities could have on their employees demonstrates their level of awareness and commitment to diversity and inclusion, says Pam McElvane, CEO & Publisher, Diversity MBA.
Diversity MBA’s methodology consists of a multi-tiered process: 1) registration of participating organizations, 2) completion of our survey, 3) rating of participants with the highest scores, and 4) secondary research to determine the Top 50. Companies are selected based on scores for representation, board diversity, recruitment, workplace inclusion, retention, succession planning and accountability.
The annual competition also recognizes “Best in Class Companies” in the areas mentioned above, as well as 20 specialty categories. Awards & Gala recognition will be held September 10th, Westin Chicago River North, in Chicago, IL.
