Thornton assumed his position in January 2008 and serves in four roles — senior business development leader for ASW’s brand management division; leading marketing strategy; directing the company-wide supplier diversity program; and sharing responsibility for business development in logistics services, specifically retail and consumer packaged goods. Prior to 2008, he was with ASW’s brand management division, global promotions/incentives, for six years as vice president of marketing. His earlier experience includes director of managed care and marketing of Lawndale Christian Health Center, where he led the strategic implementation and execution of the managed care and marketing departments. Thornton was a tutor for By the Hand Club for Kids, which was founded in the Cabrini Green Housing Projects of Chicago, and served a three-year board term at Entrenuity, which turns disadvantaged youths into business leaders with character. He currently serves on the International Warehouse & Logistics membership committee.
