Symanowitz comes from a project management and sales background spanning close to 10 years in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industries. She was always passionate about sharing knowledge and helping others gain access to positive opportunities, so during her MBA studies took on the role of class knowledge-manager. Towards the end of the degree, she was approached by her peers to start a community in order to keep the MBA network together after graduation. Based on market research, many MBAs expressed a need to retain the high-level interactions they had had during their studies, and wanted to leverage the MBA network in order to market their services and access MBA-level job opportunities. This was the seed that grew into MBAconnect, a social network exclusively for MBA alumni and students from all business schools worldwide. Symanowitz is also co-founder of www.MzansiGold.com, an exclusive South African angel network that connects angel investors with high-potential entrepreneurs.
