Karimah “Kari” McFarlane is the Head of Market Human Resources, South East at Google. She is also the CEO and Founder of Akinship, a a professional networking platform for black, indigenous, people of color to share experiences and transfer knowledge. The platform provides resources and tools for professional advancement as well as a safe space for open conversation on struggles they may be having within their workplace. McFarlane is an experiences human resources thought leader. Before joining Google she managed Talent Services with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. She was also the Senior HR Business Partner-Americas Supply Chain Operations with McCormick & Company and the Senior Human Resources Partner for the D.C. Government.
Outside of work, she is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also sits on the Corporate Leadership Council of the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. She earned her MBA from the Johns Hopkins University- Carey Business School.
