Laura Duncan is the Executive Administrator I in the Department of Medicine and Division of Endocrinology at UPMC. In this role, she is responsible for teaching, research, and clinical excellence across 10 divisions of medicine; supervising a clinical, academic, and operational team; managing the University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Endocrinology’s research and academic portfolio; managing the Department of Medicine’s information systems and hardware; and providing the Chair’s office with clinical analytics, communication and DEI programs and the expansion of telemedicine. While in this role, she has successfully developed and implemented telemedicine programs before the COVID-19 pandemic and created new funding models for UPMC’s Health plan. Duncan earned her B.A. in health care administration as well as her Master’s in the same field from the University of Pittsburgh, and she also earned a Master’s in health care informatics from Chatham University, where she also teaches a capstone course in informatics.
