Gil de las Alas is vice president of talent management and diversity for Kraft Foods Group. In this role he has overall responsibility for talent management, succession planning, leadership development, training, talent acquisition, organization effectiveness, and diversity and inclusion. As Kraft was splitting into two companies, he played an integral role in the design and development of the new organization and culture. This included company values, leadership behaviors, change management and communications, performance management and compensation/rewards. Gil began his career with Kraft in 1996 as a human resources intern while pursuing an MBA from Michigan State University. Upon graduation he joined the company as an HR Supervisor at the Springfield, Mo., manufacturing facility. Prior to his current role, Gil served as the human resources leader for the Oscar Mayer and Foodservice business units. During his college years Gil served as the president and advisor of both the Asian Pacific American Student Organization (APASO) and the Philippine American Student Society (PASS) at Michigan State University. He served as a multicultural advisor in the Residence Life System advising, mentoring and tutoring students from all backgrounds. He now regularly speaks to and mentors minority undergraduate and graduate students. Gil is an executive sponsor and former chair of the Kraft Foods Asian American Employee Council. He is a fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago, served as a board member of the Goodman Community Center and also served as a fund-raising leader on behalf of the United Way of Dane County.
