Dr. Heather J. MacLean CHICHESTER

Dr. Chichester is the Post-Irradiation Examination (PIE) Division Director at the Materials & Fuels Complex at Idaho National Laboratory. Heather is responsible for delivering mission outcomes, providing strategic direction, and managing the Hot Fuel Examination Facility (HFEF) and Neutron Radiography (NRAD) Reactor. HFEF and NRAD are key facilities for conducting non-destructive and destructive PIE of highly irradiated fuels and materials. Prior to accepting the PIE Division Director position, Dr. Chichester was a Senior Staff Scientist at INL, performing research on advanced fuels development for fast reactors and light water reactors. Dr. Chichester earned her B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996. Heather completed her Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004.
