In his current position, Butler is responsible for American Airlines’ fleet of mainline and regional aircraft as well as determining future purchases. Prior to this role, Butler served as the managing director of finance for American’s Europe and Pacific regions. In this capacity, he led a 71-person team, handling all financial international operations. He also served on the board of directors for the Board of Airlines, United Kingdom. Butler joined American in 1996 as a pricing/yield analyst with the revenue management group. He left the firm in 200 to return to school to study for his MBA and returned to American in 2002, where his career has continued to grow in a multitude of areas. In the interim, he served as a summer consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP. Some of his positions at American prior to his leaving included Project Manager, Interactive Marketing, and Team Leader, Revenue Management Services.
