Beyond her responsibilities as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s vice president and general auditor, Samuels also serves as the organization’s corporate compliance officer and is a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s diversity leadership council. She is also a certified public accountant. Prior to joining BCBSM, she was employed at KPMG, a public accounting firm. Samuels is very active in the community for the betterment of youth. She is the former board chair, treasurer and a current board member at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. She serves on the national leadership council and program policy and brand protection committees for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and is also on the board of the Greater Detroit Health Council and Nataki Talibah Schoolhouse of Detroit, a Central Michigan University Charter School. In 2011, Samuels received the Michigan Chronicle Women of Excellence Award.
