Sydney Dillard is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations and Advertising at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Her specialization is in health campaign development, strategic communication, and sustainable community-academic partnership building. Dillard previously was employed as the Project Coordinator for a $1.5 million project, which developed community-specific resources to optimize the reach, effectiveness, and access of cutting-edge medical treatment options while addressing the risk of heart disease faced by African Americans in the two largest counties of Indiana. Currently, Dillard is developing Chicago’s first sustainable academic-community partnership for fibroids called the Chicago Uterine Fibroid advisory board group (CUF).
