Russell is responsible for community affairs, product donation, employee volunteerism, and communicating PepsiCo’s diversity/inclusion efforts. Prior to joining PepsiCo Chicago in 2006, he was senior manager of community relations of Sara Lee Corp. and deputy director of the Sara Lee Foundation. Russell’s background includes nearly 20 years experience in the public and private sectors. Before Sara Lee, he was program associate of the Robert R. McCormick Tribune Foundation and a policy associate for the Chicago Jobs Council and assistant director of the Paternal Involvement Demonstration Project. He has served on the board of the Association of Black Foundation Executives, Chicago African Americans In Philanthropy, Paternal Involvement Project, School Street Movement, and Lorain County Midnight Basketball Program. He’s a board member of Chicago Cares and Urban Prep Academies, and a member of the advisory committee to the philanthropy & nonprofit sector program of Loyola University and the Donors Forum of Chicago.
