RSM Names Tracey Walker National Leader of Culture, Diversity and Inclusion

Walker succeeds Rich Caturano effective May 1, 2021

NEWS RELEASE

CHICAGO, January 25, 2021

RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – has named Tracey Walker its national leader of culture, diversity and inclusion (CDI) effective May 1, 2021. Walker succeeds Rich Caturano, former Chairman of the AICPA and founder of RSM’s CDI program.

“I am so pleased that Tracey will be our next leader of culture, diversity and inclusion,” said RSM US LLP Managing Partner and CEO Joe Adams. “Throughout the racial challenges of the last eight months, Tracey has leaned in to use her knowledge and expertise to formulate our firm’s response, provide steady leadership to our employee network groups and guide our CEO Task Force. Rich is a visionary leader—advancing diversity in our profession and at RSM. Tracey has been instrumental in working with Rich on every step of our journey, and she is the clear successor to help us continue to advance and evolve our CDI strategy for the future.”

In this role, Walker will be responsible for RSM’s overall CDI strategy, including its 12 employee network groups; its ongoing activities to recruit, retain and advance diverse professionals in partnership with the firm’s talent organization; its supplier diversity initiatives; and its ongoing commitment to inclusion. In addition, Walker will lead the diversity and inclusion education efforts within the firm and in service to clients on their journey to more inclusive culture.

“I am thrilled to succeed Rich as RSM’s national leader of culture, diversity and inclusion,” said Walker. “He is not only a visionary leader, but also a mentor and friend who has invited me to help advance the vision of being the first choice firm for underrepresented professionals and inclusive culture for all. He has enriched my career and leadership skills, as he leads with generosity, expertise and models inclusive behavior. One of the principles of our employee network groups is stewardship and building future leaders. I am grateful for Rich’s stewardship to me, and I am committed to continuing to be a steward of CDI and all people at RSM.”

“It has been an honor to build RSM’s CDI program and to work to advance diversity in the CPA profession,” said Caturano. “I am thrilled to turn over leadership of RSM’s programs to Tracey, and I know she will continue to help our firm and our profession make tremendous progress towards an even stronger culture of diversity and inclusion.”

Walker currently serves as RSM’s national senior director of government affairs and culture, diversity and inclusion—a role she has held since 2015. She has been with the firm since 2005. Prior to her CDI role, Walker served as a leader in the firm’s government practice specializing in government transformation and performance.

Walker is certified in Diversity and Inclusion as an Advanced Practitioner from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) and completed her graduate work with honors at the Harvard Business School in Organizational Behavior. She is also active in her community serving on the Inclusion Task Force for the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the board of Howard University Center for Accounting Education (CAE) and as past chair of the Urban League Board of Directors. Walker has received numerous honors and recognitions for distinguished leadership and charitable board service throughout her career. She will continue to be located in RSM’s McLean, Virginia office.
