Novant Health, Inc.
Johns Hopkins University
Nnadi joined Health in 2006 and quickly moved from regional pharmacy director to his current position. He is responsible for providing pharmacy services to 13 hospitals, and managing a budget of over $120 million. He initiated process improvement and cost reductions for the Corporate Pharmacy, which he built. Another major undertaking he led was the consolidation of pharmacy and therapeutics committees from 13 separate committees to one. The new single committee also facilitates the sharing of best practices with regard to medication safety and medication policies. As part of the corporate medication reconciliation team, Nnadi assisted in improving medication safety at the time of hospital admission. The intervention reduced 30 and 60 day readmission rates and returns to the emergency department. Moreover, Nnadi and his team successfully developed innovative roles for technicians to advance pharmacy practice in the state of North Carolina by starting associate degree in pharmacy technology education.
