Sheila Robinson, MBA
Publisher/CEO
Diversity Woman Magazine
Western Carolina University
A former marketing director at DuPont’s global textiles division, Robinson handled all marketing communications and PR for its apparel business. After 14 years, the division was sold in 2004. Robinson resigned and started a publication to help individuals experiencing the obstacles and challenges she endured throughout her career as an African-American woman. The first step was launching a regional North Carolina publication, Career Network magazine, which provided ideas, solutions, and resources to business professionals at all levels. Her next step was launching a national magazine, Diversity Woman, a resource for female executives and entrepreneurs of all races and backgrounds. Robinson is a member of the National Association for Female Executives and the National Association for Women Business Owners, and serves on the board of Women in Periodical Publishing and Business and Professional Women. She’s also the founder of Iamaleader.org, a program that teaches leadership skills and provides resources about careers and entrepreneurship for students in K-12.
