Biography
Rob Low is the divisional senior vice president of Data & Analytics Solutions for Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC). Rob joined HCSC in 2018 as the senior vice president of Health Analytics, a new organization within the company’s IT division. Under his leadership, Health Analytics grew into a team of 250+ employees whose analytics expertise helped improve health outcomes for members and position the company for growth. Health Analytics reached a new stage of transformation in 2019 when it became Data & Analytics Solutions, a standalone division that is IT’s key strategic partner.
A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Rob earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Modern History from the University of St. Andrews, and a master’s in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He holds an Executive Scholar Certificate in Sales & Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Accomplishments and Community Service
Throughout his HCSC career, Rob has taken tangible steps to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. In 2019, just months after he joined the company, Rob began a “Women in Data & Analytics Leadership” program to develop female employees with leadership aspirations and offer them clearer paths to advancement.
In 2020, as the potential impact of COVID-19 became clear, Rob acted swiftly to oversee the creation of several interactive data dashboards for the company’s leaders. In addition to helping them safeguard the company’s members, the dashboards drew their attention to minority communities – including African Americans in Chicago and Native Americans in Oklahoma and New Mexico – that experienced noticeably higher infection and hospitalization rates.
Today, Rob continues to lead efforts to address structural inequality. They include the recent launch of a Social Determinants of Health database that provides employees a growing catalog of data sets from public and third-party sources. His division’s data expertise is also helping HCSC be part of the Vaccine Connectors Community Program that is vaccinating two million persons over age 65 who live in the nation’s most at-risk and underserved communities.
Rob’s commitment to serving others includes his life outside of work. As a member of the board of directors for Winding Trails, a non-profit near his home in Connecticut, he has helped provide a growing number of children from disadvantaged communities free or discounted tuition to the organization’s popular summer camp program.
