Dr. Leonard Moore is a professor of American History at the University of Texas at Austin and the former vice-president of diversity and community engagement. Dr. Moore earned his B.A. from Jackson State University and his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. He started teaching at UT-Austin in 2007.At the University of Texas he teaches a class on the black power movement and a signature course titled “Race in the Age of Trump.” He also directs study abroad programs in various cities such as Cape Town, Beijing, and Dubai. He is a highly engaged and student-centered professor who has won numerous awards throughout his career for his wonderful teaching style. Dr. Moore is also an author. He has written four books on black politics and is currently working on two more.
