They also plan to increase representation of Black employees by 50% in Store Leader roles in the U.S. by 2025. In addition, Gap has followed through on their commitment to equal pay and conducts an annual review to ensure accountability. Gap ais also committed to combatting inequity in the fashion industry. Their brands have implemented and developed initiatives such as True Hues, to create dedicated product inclusion strategies with a particular focus on Black and diverse consumers. They have also formalized the engagement of the Color Proud Council as a critical and necessary step in brand inclusive product and marketing creation. Gap aims to support and amplify the voices of BIPOC communities. Additionally, Gap has developed strategies to help the communities they serve overcome systemic inequality. They accomplish this through civic engagement, pipeline programs, and policy & advocacy. For example, Gap partners with Open to All, the NAACP, and EmbraceRace to engage with their customers, schools and communities on the topic of racism and social injustice.
