Over the past year, Ulta beauty has reinforced their commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion for all. To ensure accountability and provide counsel and inspiration for leaders, ulta created the role of Diversity and Inclusion Advisor. This role has been filled by Tracee Ellis Ross, CEO and Founder of PATTERN Beauty. Ulta’s commitment has three prongs: creating an inclusive environment for associates, amplifying & investing in underrepresented voices, and ensuring positive guest experiences. To ensure that their workforce are participating in an inclusive environment, Ulta have increased the amount of diversity and inclusion trainings, established a Diverse Leaders Program that provides associates with valuable executive mentorship, as well as launching recruiting efforts. For their guests, Ulta has introduced quarterly training for store and salon associates to reinforce inclusivity and address unconscious bias. For their suppliers, Ulta has agreed to allocate $20 million to media investments across endemic and multi-cultural platforms to create more personal connections with BIPOC and other communities.
