Sydney Dillard, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Public Relations and Advertising
Sydney Dillard is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations and Advertising at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Her specialization is in health campaign development, strategic communication, and sustainable community-academic partnership building. Dillard previously was employed as the Project Coordinator for a $1.5 million project, which developed community-specific resources to optimize the reach, effectiveness, and access of cutting-edge medical treatment options while addressing the risk of heart disease faced by African Americans in the two largest counties of Indiana. Currently, Dillard is developing Chicago’s first sustainable academic-community partnership for fibroids called the Chicago Uterine Fibroid advisory board group (CUF). This partnership is a structure for capacity-building that addresses the impact of fibroid tumors on the lives of women in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Outside of academia, Dillard enjoys the beauty of nature, traveling, dancing, and playing flag football.
