David serves as the EVP and Chief Human Resources officer and has overall system-wide responsibility for establishing, enabling, and maintaining organizational effectiveness and a positive employee and labor relations environment across WellStar Health System. He is responsible for providing senior executive leadership and oversight for the delivery of HR solutions to the business, including: human capital strategy, culture design and change management, team effectiveness, workforce planning, performance management planning, succession management, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, and labor relation. In addition, he has indirect responsibility for effective delivery of operational HR processes such as talent acquisition, learning and development, and compensation administration, working with other HR leadership team member colleagues. David also serves as the functional HR leader for HR executives in the regions and national functions.
David brings to this role nearly 30 years of strategic HR experience and expertise. He comes to WellStar from Kaiser Permanente where he spent the past 3.5 years in HR leadership positions, most recently in the role of senior vice president, HR Consulting. Prior to this, he was the vice president of human resources at Stanford university. David has also held HR leadership positions at Dignity Health (Formally Catholic healthcare west), Harvard university, Southern California Edison Company, and Georgetown University medical Center.
David has a bachelor’s in communication from Morehouse college, and a J.D. with emphasis in Labor and employment law from Howard University School of Law. He also has an LL.M. (Masters of Laws) in Labor and employment law from Georgetown University Law Center.
