Cleveland Fed announces new leadership in Financial Support Services and Events and Education

Michael Beedles (left) has been named vice president of Financial Support Services at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, effective June 11, 2018. He is responsible for leading the accounting, financial services, procurement services, payment services, and travel departments at the Bank.

Most recently, Beedles was vice president of finance and global controller at Kalibrate Technologies Ltd., a software technology company, where he enhanced US banking operations and streamlined cash management functions. Previously, Beedles was controller at Things Remembered and director of finance at the law firm Thompson Hine LLP.

He earned a BS in accounting and finance from the University of Cincinnati and is a certified public accountant.

 

Kathleen Niess (right) has been promoted to assistant vice president, events and education, effective June 18, 2018. She will be responsible for setting the strategy for enhancing the public’s understanding of the Federal Reserve’s role through programming in the Conference Center and Learning Center and Money Museum.

Niess joined the Bank in 2016 as a manager in the Conference and Event Management Department. She played a key role in the planning and launch of the Bank’s new conference center, which opened in November 2017. Kathleen has more than 25 years of experience in event planning, public relations and donor relations, including roles with the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University.

She holds a BS in public relations
from Kent State University.
