Deidra Cheeks Merriwether is senior vice president and chief operating officer, retail formats for Sears Holdings Corporation, a leading integrated retailer with over 2,200 full-line and specialty retail stores in the United States and Canada. A veteran with nearly two decades of business leadership experience, with a track record of developing strategies and building strong teams to drive improved business performance. In her current role, she is responsible for driving strategic initiatives that deliver processes to optimize the customer experience and return on retail space. During her tenure at Sears Holdings, Merriwether has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer, support units which included; store operations, supply chain, home services, and procurement. Merriwether has also led the retail, procurement and real estate units at Sears Holdings, and along the way has led key initiatives that have driven profits through innovation and partnership. Prior to joining Sears Holdings, Ms. Merriwether held positions at Isiah Investments as vice president, finance and real estate acquisitions; and at PricewaterhouseCoopers as manager, mergers and acquisitions, in their Fast Track to Partner Program. A Michigan native, Ms. Merriwether holds an MBA in finance and operations management from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University.
