CHICAGO, IL – DiversityMBA Magazine, an internationally distributed publication targeting women and multicultural professionals in corporate America, government, entrepreneurs and business students, has named the 2011 Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive  & Emerging Leaders.

The leaders were selected based on their position within a publicly or privately held company, a successful entrepreneurial company or not-for-profit organization, and for their scope of responsibility, community service work and education achieved.

“We wanted to celebrate leaders who value higher education, giving back while achieving their career goals,” said Pam McElvane, CEO & Publisher of Diversity MBA Magazine. “Many of the other mainstream publications recognize currently celebrated leaders, but I wanted to show the world that companies have leaders championing change and are the pipeline for the future.”

The honorees will be featured in DiversityMBA Magazine’s Summer 2011 issue and will be honored at the magazine’s Awards Gala held September 13th & 14th at the Chicago Wyndam Hotel. The gala and leadership forum has proven to be one the of the most powerful and engaging forums of its kind, with 85 percentof the Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive and Emerging Leaders in attendance.

Diversity MBA Magazine is the global leadership publication for professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge base from a thought leadership perspective.

“As Diversity MBA Magazine celebrates our fifth year of recognizing women and diverse talent in leadership, we know we have established a niche that is second to none in recognizing talented individuals who make significant contributions in the workplace and community,” McElvane said.

Another product of the magazine is “50 Out Front List: Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work,” which recognizes companies that not only demonstrate their strong commitment to diversity, but also understand the value of supporting external programs that enhance leadership and retention within their organizations.

This year’s honorees come from around the world, including China, Africa, and Europe, and from a wide spectrum of industries, including retail, financial services, automotive, railroad, healthcare, education, medical, pharmaceutical, communications, government and consulting. Eighty percent are from corporate America. The percentage of honorees with MBAs (as opposed to other advanced degrees) is 80 percent, up from 50 percent in previous years. The list also shows a small increase in the nonprofit sector.
