Nicole Winters-Smith is the Senior Director, National & Key Accounts, for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Michigan. In this role, she leads all aspects of the health and wellness benefits provided to members of UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, the largest private purchaser of retiree health care in the United States; The Trust is the largest account in the Blue Cross-Blue Shield organization and a Top 10 account across Blues plans nationwide. For this account, Winters-Smith leads a team handling Clinical Management, Strategy & Innovation, Consulting Reporting & Analytics and Product Delivery. In the span of her career, she has worked for companies such as Price Waterhouse as a Certified Public Accountant and at Mercer Health & Benefits as a Principal Consultant, where she has handled multimillion dollar accounts. Winters-Smith earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s in business administration from the University of Michigan.
