Edmund Novy Appointed Vice President of the Board And Treasurer Of U.S. Non-Profit, FEJ-USA

(PORT AU PRINCE, HAITI) – Edmund Novy, a long respected real estate professional and expert on sustainability, has been named vice president of the board of directors of FEJ-USA, it was recently announced by the organization. Novy also serves as treasurer.

A registered non-governmental, nonprofit corporation, FEJ-USA is a respected, successful charitable group based in the US which has worked for more than  years now to help break the cycle of poverty there, helping to empower local communities and support programs that care for Haiti’s most vulnerable populations: Children and families. FEJ-USA provides support to organizations such as Fondation Enfant Jesus (FEJ), in Haiti, who implements many acclaimed and effective programs, among them healthcare, nutrition, clean water and agricultural development, as well as vocational training and literacy, among others.

“Ed has been a tremendous addition to the FEJ-USA board,” said Lillian Dukes, president of the board of directors. “As vice president and treasurer, he has been instrumental in making an immediate impact on the board, while providing technical expertise to the staff on ground in Haiti. Ed has a heart for what we do, a passion for the mission of FEJ and a vision for how to help take the organization to the next level,” she adds.  “We are very pleased to add him to our team and look forward to gaining further from his insights and diverse experience.”

Aside from his work with FEJ-USA, Novy presently works with the California Public Utility Commission’s Energy Efficiency Procurement Group, which reviews and advises on nearly $600 million of third-party energy efficiency program solicitations. The holder of a B.A. degree in Political Science from UCLA, Novy completed his graduate work in sustainability two years ago at Harvard University, where as his capstone project he developed a Sustainability Action Plan for FEJ. Novy has also worked in the field of commercial real estate as an appraiser, and he is a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Novy further serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Green Building Council-Los Angeles, where he has held the leadership roles of vice chairman, interim deputy executive director and treasurer. He is also a senior fellow in the Environmental Leadership Program, which leverages the principles of inclusion to catalyze sustainability solutions. He is a Fitwel Ambassador (Center for Active Design) and a LEED Green Associate.
