Who’s Who in Diversity? , Lorraine Hariton

Catalyst has just announced Lorraine Hariton as its new President & CEO.

Lorraine (who says her career has benefited from Catalyst’s work) held senior-level positions in Silicon Valley, including serving as CEO of two Silicon Valley start-ups. Most recently she was Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for the New York Academy of Sciences, where she was instrumental in creating the Global STEM Alliance and its 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures program, a global mentoring initiative to help girls pursue careers in STEM. She also served as Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs at the US Department of State, where she established The Global Entrepreneurship Program, the WECREATE program for women entrepreneurs, and the Secretary’s Council on Women’s Leadership. She sees this new role as an opportunity to pay it forward in an area that has been a lifelong passion.

With this new appointment, Catalyst continues its work to advance women in leadership—especially critical in light of the recent Indra Nooyi news and dwindling number of women CEOs in the S&P 500.  We are offering interviews with Lorraine today and this week on her appointment.
