“Inclusion & Diversity is a business imperative for Dow and is not only the right thing to do, but it’s the smart thing to do. We are striving to create an environment where every employee is respected and valued and has an equal opportunity to develop, advance and be heard.” – Karen S. Carter

Over the years, Dow Jones has built a reputation as an organization that promotes and pushes for equity. This year is no different. Dow Jones has recently joined the CEO Action For Diversity and Inclusion, which is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance inclusion and diversity in the workplace. In addition to having 10 global Employee Resource Groups, driving diverse talent acquisition, and ensuring supplier diversity, Dow Jones is also helping employees and their communities in light of current social injustices. After spring of 2020, Dow created Dow ACTs, a framework devoted to addressing racial inequity both within the company and within their communities. Under this framework Dow has created a new paid time off policy for voting and other non-partisan related civic activities, launched their U.S. Social Justice Council, announced a $1 million commitment over the course of five years, to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. They have also joined the Board Diversity Action Alliance and the Civic Alliance. This is only a fraction of what they have done and hope to achieve by 2024.
